Hai Tran is Associate Professor of Finance and Associate Chair in the Department of Finance at Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Oregon, an MBA from Washington State University, and a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University, with majors in Finance and Accounting and a minor in Professional Writing.
His research examines mutual fund management, corporate governance, boards of directors, and the effects of tax policy on firms and shareholders. His work has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Politics, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Review of Corporate Finance Studies, among others.
Prior to academia, he worked as a Planning Analyst at PepsiCo in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
