Resources for Students

This page collects resources I recommend to current and prospective finance students. For the full four-year activity plan and department resources, visit the LMU Finance Student Success page.

Meet with Me

I’m happy to meet by appointment — sign up for a coffee or meeting through Calendly.

LA Finance Firms Database

I maintain a database of Los Angeles-area finance firms organized by sector (asset management, investment banking, private equity, real estate, wealth management, etc.). This is a useful starting point for students exploring internship and full-time opportunities in the LA market. Connect with me to request access.

Interview Question Database

I have compiled a database of interview questions reported by LMU students and alumni at specific firms. If you have an upcoming interview, reach out and I can share relevant questions for your target firm. If you’ve recently interviewed, I encourage you to contribute your questions to help future students.

Recommended Elective Pathways

The graphic below outlines recommended Finance elective sequences based on your target career path.

Financial Modeling & Technical Prep

Wall Street Prep

LMU students get the full course package for $50 (lifetime access), subsidized by the Department of Finance. Start with Excel Crash Course, Accounting Crash Course, and Financial Statement Modeling. See the department page for the complete recommended sequence by year.

CFA Program

LMU is a CFA Institute Affiliated University, and the department offers three annual CFA Exam scholarships for students. I teach the CFA Level I Exam Prep course. Connect with me if you’re considering the CFA path.

Bloomberg Terminal Resources

The Bloomberg Finance Learning Lab is located in the Hilton Center. Terminals are available to all finance students during building hours. I recommend completing the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification. Sign up for a free account using your LMU email at Bloomberg for Education.
